Devpebe

I started Devpebe as a frontend blog on WordPress. Over time, I wanted to publish smaller notes and interactive tools alongside the articles. I also wanted to work on the site in my editor, with the same tools I use at work.

That led me to Astro. I wrote more about the decision in my post about moving from WordPress.

How the site works

Posts and notes are Markdown or MDX files in Git. Astro builds the pages, and Cloudflare serves the resulting files. Tailwind CSS handles the styling.

I use React for the gradient editor. Search uses Pagefind to search the built pages, including the Polish posts. The navigation and command bar use browser JavaScript.

The old blog posts still have their original URLs. Keeping those links working was part of the migration.
